2004 CB West Girl's Volleyball Team Preview

CB West girls volleyball will try to adjust after losing half their teamates to CB South.

Coach Ben Martin will start his third season as the Bucks Head Coach after taking last year's team to a 17-3 season.

West will compete this year with an in-experienced squad, most of the projected starters do not not have significant Varsity or Club playing experience. The team will rely on the experience of Seniors Stacy Bilan and Megan Eiser to lead the way.

Competing for Outside hitter positions will be Paige Harris, Katie Welsh, Matilda Jaho and Rachael Lavin.

The defensive specialists this year will be Matilda Jaho, Kate Noa, Kate Raab and Alex Wojcik. They will be going into the back row to pass/dig those serves and opponent's Kills.

Back in the Middle for another year will be Stacey Bilan. Stacey was a force last year and will be counted on again this year to lead the team to the conference title. Joining Stacey will be Molly MacMillan who moves up from JV and Missy Courts a new player who adds some athletic ability to the squad.

Opposite side hitters will be Vicki Hellerick and Kate Noa.

Returning for her 4th year as Varsity setter is Megan Eiser. Megan, having started since 9th grade will be counted on to direct the team with her confidence and experience.

With all the new players added to the Varsity roster and the loss of the South girls, it will be quite a challage to put together a competitive team. The change in the league conference also brings about uncertainy with the new teams being played. All-in-all it should be an interesting season and the team is expecting to challange for the top of the conference.
