LLLLET'S GET READY TO SUCK IIIIIIIIT!

Well, this is the first installment of "Jonathan's News & Views" so once again, bear with me. 8)

Well, first of all let me get off my chest that I am a WWF loyalist. I like the WCW, they've got better quality matches, their wrestlers have better in ring talent, and hell... they even have the Nitro girls. 8) But as far as superior angle advancement and making people stars, WWF takes the cake. Just look at the picture of DX above. Who would've thought that the HHH, Jesse James and Billy Gunn of a year ago would be the DX of today. The whole group is getting incredible heat right now, even without Shawn Michaels. People are chanting along with their catch phrases just like the nWo of WCW. Excluding X-Pac (because of neck injury), these are some of the guys that will take wrestling into the next millenium. Of course f'n Hogan will probably still be around too... 8(

Speaking of wrestlers of the future, a few more names on that list might be (and in no particular order):

  1. The Rock
  2. Al Snow
  3. Rob Van Dam
  4. Chris Benoit (If he ever gets his ass out of WCW)
  5. Chris Jericho
  6. The Giant
  7. Eddie Guerro (sp?)
  8. D-Lo Brown (all he needs is a push)
  9. Booker T
  10. Disco Inferno (I know, I know... but Disco can wrestle!)
  11. Owen Hart
  12. Ken Shamrock
  13. Saturn
Geez... I could go on.... 8) But for now, I'm gonna keep my eye on the new blood that's starting to flood into the WWF these days, and maybe some more names can be added here as well.

Now for some news (some old, some new)... plucked from various sources around the web. If you want to read about these tidbits in greater detail, I suggest checking out some of the great wrestling newspages located on my Links page.

  • X-Pac should be clear to make his ring return at King Of The Ring
  • The Jackyl debuted his new stable on RAW this week. It consists of a group of "human oddities". The new "giant" Paul Silva is a legit 7 foot 4. The masked wrestler "Golga" is John Tenta, who played The Earthquake a few years back. And of course, Luna is well...... Luna. 8)
  • Shawn Michaels is trying to avoid back surgery at all costs. He's trying various different treatments to relieve the pain.
  • Preliminary First Round Matches for King of the Ring:
    - Al Snow vs. Brian Christopher
    - Ken Shamrock vs. Owen Hart
    - The Rock vs. Steve Blackman
    - X-Pac vs. The Edge
  • TSN Wrestling schedule for week of May 25:
    - May 25 (8:57 pm EST) : WWF RAW LIVE
    - May 26 (12:00 am EST) : WWF RAW ENCORE
    - May 26 (4:00 pm EST) : WWF RAW ENCORE
    - May 27 (3:00 pm EST) : WCW NITRO (3 Hours)
    - May 28 (12:00 am EST) : WCW NITRO
  • Sting did indeed join the Wolfpack when Nitro went off the air.
  • Dr. Death Steve Williams is officially signed with the WWF.
  • The Ultimate Warrior has officially signed with WCW. He should appear by July at the latest.
  • It seems Davey Boy Smith has been rehired by WCW. Thanks to some whining from Bret Hart. Also the Bulldog may even get a title thanks to his good ol' brother in law.
  • Well there ya go... the first installment..... hope its as good for you as it was for me. 8)
