Completely overshadowing this PPV was the tragic, untimely death of Owen Hart. Hart died as he was preparing to enter the
ring as the Blue Blazer in a match against the Godfather for the Intercontinental Title. More below.
X-Pac and Kane successfully defended the tag Team Titles against D-Lo Brown and Mark Henry.
AL Snow beat Bob Holly, retaining the Hardcore Title.
During a highlights package hyping the next upcoming match, Owen Hart fell from a wire rig suspended nearly 50 feet
above the ring. Jim Ross informed the PPV viewers of the accident immediately following the highlights package. For the
next ten minutes or so efforts were made to resuscitate Owen as video clips were played. Neither the fall itself nor the
paramedics efforts were broadcast.
Val Venis and Nicole Bass defeated Jeff Jarrett and Debra McMichael in a mixed-tag match.
Billy Gunn beat Road Dogg.
Mankind was the sole survivor in an elimination match between the Union and the Corporate Ministry.
Owen Hart's death was announced to the PPV viewers.
Triple H was DQ'ed in his match against the Rock. Helmsley continued to beat on the Rock with a chair, and was
stopped eventually by Mankind.
The Undertaker pinned "Stone Cold" Steve Austin to win the WWF Championship. Pat Patterson and Gerry Brisco both
tried to replace Vince McMahon as the second referee, Vince having been injured during Sunday Night Heat at the
hands of Shane McMahon and Midian. Vince was able to come out, and in an ensuing scuffle between he and Shane, the
Undertaker was knocked on top of Austin. Shane made a fast three count, giving the Undertaker the win and the WWF
Title for the 3rd time.
