WWF WrestleMania XV "The Ragin' Climax"

  • Boyz II Men sang "America the Beautiful".

  • Bob Holly beat Billy Gunn and Al Snow to win the Hardcore Title, scoring the pin on Snow.

  • Owen Hart and Jeff Jarrett (with debra McMichael ) beat the impromptu team of Test and D-Lo Brown. Jarrett pinned D-Lo following a drop-kick off the top turnbuckle. D-Lo and Test argued and fought following the match. Hart and Jarrett retained the World Tag Team Titles.

  • Butterbean knocked out Bart Gunn in the first round of a Brawl For All bout. Afterwards referee Vinnie Pazienza got into a mock fight with the San Diego Chicken.

  • Mankind beat Paul Wight via DQ. Wight chokeslammed him through two chairs, then hit him with one of the chairs. Vince McMahon came out to berate Wight and, one thing leading to another, McMahon slapped Wight and Wight floored him with a punch. McMahon called the police and had Wight arrested for assault. Mankind was taken away to the hospital.

  • Road Dogg pinned Goldust in a Four Corners match for the Intercontinental Title. Ken Shamrock and Val Venis, the other two competitors in the match, were counted out shortly before.

  • Kane beat Triple H by DQ following interference by Chyna, who attacked Kane with a chair. Triple H then Pedigreed Kane on the chair. Chyna and Triple H reunited. Prior to the match Kane was attacked by the San Diego Chicken, who was unmasked to reveal Pete Rose. Rose was Tombstone Piledrived by Kane, just as he was at last year's WrestleMania.

  • Sable beat Torrie with the Sablebomb. Moments before Torrie had accidentally knocked out the referee. Then Nicole Bass came out and chokeslammed Torrie. Sable powerbombed Torrie and the recovered ref counted the pin.

  • Shane McMahon beat X-Pac with the help of Test, the Mean Streets Posse, Chyna and Triple H. As Chyna distracted the ref Triple H hit X-Pac with the Pedigree, signaling that the two had joined the Corporation. Road Dogg and Billy Gunn came out for the save, but were attacked by Test and Triple H. Shane retained the European Title.

  • A bloody Undertaker beat a bloody Big Bossman with the Tombstone Piledriver in the Hell in a Cell match. The Brood then dropped down from the ceiling, ripped open the top of the cage, and lowered a rope noose down into the ring. The Undertaker placed the noose around the Bossman's neck and the Bossman was hung when the cage was raised back to the ceiling.

  • "Stone Cold" Steve Austin pinned the Rock to win the WWF Championship. Vince McMahon named himself the replacement referee for the missing Mankind, but Commissioner Shawn Michaels came out and say the WWF rules gave him the authority to overrule that decision. The match was officiated by a regular WWF referee, who was knocked out during the course of the match. A second referee was also knocked out, and yet a third referee was knocked out by Vince McMahon. The decision was eventually rendered by Mankind, who returned from the hospital. Austin scored the pin following a Stone Cold Stunner. Vince McMahon confronted Austin after the match and Austin gave him a Stunner too.

FINALLY, a decent card. Top to bottom, this was a good one. My only major problem was the Taker/Bossman Hell In Cell match. It was HORRIBLE. Taker had ring rust, and the Bossman, well... was The Bossman. I refuse to accept that this match even ocurred, let alone that it was the second last match of the night. The Brood coming down with from the ceiling was neat and I must say the visual of the Bossman being hung was pretty neat.

I also didn't like the way the Outlaws were switched in their matches. What was the point?

I loved the Bart Gunn squash and Pete Rose's return!. I was VERY impressed with Shane's performance and the double turn by Chyna. I was fooled the whole time. I like the new badass HHH.

The Rock and Austin put on a decent match, but seemed very run of the mill. These guys can do a good match blindfolded, but this one lacked that extra oomph for a Wrestlemania. Plus, the whole special referee nonsense which ended up with both Mick and Wight absent until the very end was dumb.
