At the age of 17, December 5, 1921, Clarence married Thelma Rebecca Reed in Farmington, Davis, Utah. November 25, 1925, they became parents of Shirley Mae Shipley. Their marriage ended in divorce.

August 1, 1938, Dad married my Mom, Madge Gertrude Holst, in Salt Lake City, Utah. He became the Daddy of Clare Ann Davies the same day. She used the name Shipley for many years and couldn't of been a better daughter to him.
