| A new SDI Digital Camera Adapter and a new Multicore Camera Control Unit are being introduced at NAB 2002. To further enhance the DXC studio camera systems, Sony will soon offer a new CA-D50 camera adapter and CCU-D50 digital control unit. An SDI digital video transmission is allowed from the camera to the CCU. With the combination of CA-D50 and CCU-D50, a true end-to-end digital signal is provided. The uncompressed digital signal output at the camera head is directly transcoded to SDI by the CA-D50 camera adapter. The transmission is accomplished without utilizing a conventional digital-analog-digital conversion step, allowing the highest possible video quality, while completely eliminating A/D/A transition loss and artifacts. This end-to-end digital system using a multicore cable is the first in the industry for a standard definition studio camera. | ||
