Yes, this is the part where I tell you boring stories of how I got to be where I am today.
Alright, I admit it, I was a Magic player (A fact that I am not proud of presently). And just when I started to get out of the game I saw this new card game in the store that I used to frequent. After alittle coaxing from friends I decided to join. My first deck: Crab. I liked it although it just didn't feel right to me, I liked the defense but it just didn't seem like much I could do with it, needless to say I've been playing around with the Crab ever since. I bought 3 other starters in that Imperial Edition, Pheonix, Crane and Lion. Unfortunatly I could never get the feel for Pheonix, but I was really starting to enjoy my Lion deck. That is until Lion betrayed me. To this day I'm unsure of the of what actually happened, but it appears as though my Lion deck decided to part ways with me. Including my Lion Clan sword. This was the first of two Lion swords that I would lose in my posession. So there I was, with a Crane deck back before the Crane were still a rag-tag group of expensive duelists and politicians. But the Crab were still calling me... Now, I don't know if this happened everywhere, but right after Forbidden Knowledge it seemed as though the game suffered a loss of interest and I put down my cards in pursuit of other intrests. It actually wasn't until the closing end of Crimson and Jade when I picked them up again. This time I fully embraced Crane with a feeling that the Clan had fully grown and its purpose was well established and with a feeling that I helped in my area (There is so few of us in the Metro-Denver area that play Crane as a primary clan, yet another reason why I was attracted to them in the first place).
I chose the family of Daidoji simply because they fit my personal style, a good mix of the Crane Clan plus the ideaology of most of the Crab Clan. I've taken up the study of oriental warfare and have read the words of Sun-Tzu and Miramoto Mushashi. The name of my first Daidoji character, Taishi is actually the family name of the Chinese General Taishi Ci. I decided to change to Daidoji Maseru during the transition to Gold edition. Maseru was originally a Live Action character I had who was a Daidoji spy agaisnt the Lion clan, so I decided to make it my web persona.
