We struggled up the sharp switchbacks to Hidden Canyon; here's a shot from its best view point. You can see our cars far below. Weeping Rock is in the dark gorge to the left. The wind was so strong it knocked me off my feet; I wouldn't let Jack go near the edge, which was a straight drop to the bottom.
Just after we took the shot from the viewpoint above, the wind picked up even more. I noticed this pretty "cloud" floating into the canyon and asked Jack to get a shot of it.
Even more wind whipped through the rocks on the viewpoint and the cloud started rushing towards us. In seconds, the "cloud" was over us, and turned out to be a nasty snow squall so fierce we though we had better get down to our car. We started running down the trail we'd just climbed, stopping to take a couple pictures.
We stopped at the bottom to watch for another hiker we'd passed on the way up. She was alone and we were worried. Just as we caught our breath, the squall disappeared and the sun came out. Pretty silly, huh?
