GO Dale Earnhardt! Both of you!
Burton won the final race, and Little E won the Busch season championship! Good thing he only needed to start the race. He finished second to last.
Gordon won the final race and the Winston Cup season championship and millions of dollars. So now he is going to drive Busch races next season. What class. Every time he qualifies, a Busch driver goes home empty.
Big E will be on the stage at the Waldorf, but must be wondering where the magic went.
Vasser wins the CART Marlboro 500 and Zanardi says 'a biento' as he leaves to rejoin F-1.
Sprague won the season finale, but Hornaday won the Craftsman Truck Championship. After thousands of miles, only a few truck-lengths determined the outcome. That should give Dale Earnhardt Racing two major series titles. Yay Ron!
Haakinen won the F-1 title, and deserved it, too. If Schumacher is, indeed, the best driver in the world, he still needs about 1% more patience to snag some more championships.
Steve Kinser won his 15th (but first post-Carl) World of Outlaws Sprint Car Championship. Good for you, Steve.
Speaking of the races; at the 1998 Sprint PCS Grand Prix of Minneapolis, theses were my two favorite cars. The first is the Panoz, and reminds me of the Batmobile:
This is a better picture of the Panoz from their website.
My next favorite was the odd Raptor.
It has a windscreen that reminds me of the Stealth fighter:
Here are a couple of better shots of the Mosler Raptor. Note how much the windscreen looks like the canopy on the Stealth fighter.
