CONVERSATION TWELVE—"Surrender and Resurrection" You have become very tired because you do not trust. You believe you have it within you to save yourself from the imagined perils you mis-perceive. In truth, you only run from projected shadows. There is never anything to fear. Rest in me, my brother. You are held. There is no need to hurry, no place to go, nothing to accomplish. Heaven is already here. All you need do is surrender into it. It is a moment to moment experience, not someplace you are going. As you rest in me all will be clear, taken care of with an ease and grace beyond your current understanding. The mind could never arrange reality so flawlessly. You still fear the crucifixion. You see not that it was and is your choice. The hammer and nails are in your hands. You drag the cross behind you yet, still wondering if there is need of further sacrifice and penance to redeem your sins. The cross is optional in this journey. What is not is surrender, for that is the open door into the Kingdom which is your home. And home you come now. Resistance and crucifixion are not synonymous with coming home. It is you who built the separate ego and it is you that maintain it. This is all that dies on the cross. Why not simply release it now? Fall into peace. Confess your fear, powerlessness and ignorance apart from me, and you are free. In the moment of this admission, the ego dies and you are resurrected. It is easy to face the truth of what little you are apart from me. To do so is true humility, and the doorway to your freedom. "I of myself can do nothing; my Father in heaven does all." This is the open doorway to rest and eternal peace, always awaiting you. Remind your brothers and sisters of this simple truth. No greater service could you do. The Kingdom comes quickly now. You sense this daily. There is little time for separation anymore. You will create the game of life becoming more painful when you stray from me. You want to come home, even though you fight it all the way. Pain need not be the impetus, but it serves well when all else fails. All roads lead to me, now more than ever. The path of the world narrows and soon ends on the golden steps of New Jerusalem. I await you; please come in. —The Christ
