A fellowship often times under rated by the Trolls within
a lodge. This is mostly true of those childer and
wilder Trolls Kith. Grumps realize how important
this lodge is as they are often the true movers and
shakers within Kith Society. True most of the subject
handled by the Fellowhsip pf the Mountain
seeming boring and tediou. It is we who would be
boring and uneducated as to the nature of this lodge.
The Fellowship of the Mountain is here to handle the historical
and spiritual aspects of a Troll Lodge.
How could legends of Brian Boru - the Lion of Ireland,
Sigfried - the slayer of Fafnir, or Sir Gawain of
King Arthur legends - the strongest knight; have any
impact on us today? Why would or even why
should we care? Those are questions often asked
by the young today and even I asked them before I met
Tobias Hammerfoot. Luckily, for me Tobias knew
all the known legends of Thor and recounted them to
me. I learn that strength won't win every outcome
and guile is sometimes braver route to take. I learned
about how to never give up to attain your goals.
With the stories my folks and the late Sir Montoya told
me I learned chivalry, honor, and virtue. From
the Trolls I met I learned why Duty was our blood and
passion for Duty our heart. The past can teach
us much if we our only willing to learn.
On the spiritual side of things maybe you want to learn
more about using your Arts and the Realms they
can affect? Where do you go to learn new things
of this nature? Why here to a fellowship dedicated to
your betterment. Here is where the Troll Battle
Wizards gather to learn and teach those in need of it.
Expect to do favors or pay for their knowledge, for one
never knows the price or trials they paid or
endured to gather their hard won skills.
Balefire you say, where does it come from? Maybe
now the reason for this fellowship is a little cleearer
and why it is so far reaching across our kith.
This fellowship is charged with tending the Balefire and
every Beltaine it is the Fellowship of the Mountain that
renews the Balefire and recite the oral history of
the Trolls, including excerpts from both "The Tapestry
of Slumber" and "The Chronicles of Leander."
