Hall of the Tucson Lodge's Fellowship of the Storm
"Inside you shall find what lore I have collected on what weapons we Trolls use and in coming months there will be lessons how to use them. Now leave Bandit alone since he is the only enchanted bat I know," says Sir One of the Rage - Head of the Tucson Lodge's Fellowship of the Storm

This
suit you see here is light leather armor. While this example is from
the Roman times style don't let its usefulness you. This type of
armor can be made to look like many modern day clothes we wear now.

Here
we have a suit of Studded Leather armor. Like leather armor it does
an average to good job of absorbing impact blows. However, its real
usefulness come from the studs or spikes on it. Tackling or grappling
with an un armored opponent can cause additional damage to him or her.
The gothic punk genre has many items of clothing that this armor can be
made into.

Chainmail,
Chief-Brother Hadrian's personal favorite style of armor (probably because
he can make it), and true many of the above statements about leather hold
true for this armor in the modern day. Typically if your not in some
re-enactment group your going to get funny looks if you wear too much of
this at one time. Excellent protection against cutting attacks.
Thrusting gets about the same protection as leather. The same holds
true for large blunt attacks.

mail - While this armor provided excellent protection against both blunt
and sharp attacks. Please refer to the above section on chain mail
for funny looks syndrome. Some girl Trolls might be able to get away with
a skirt of this in certain occasions. For Punks & Goths a tank
top version may prove acceptable to your friends to see you in.

Plate
Armor - Damn!
Even though you may suffer from the above funny look
syndrome. Wearing a single piece of this style of armor can be a
marvelous eye catcher and conversation piece. Most street - level
groups would accept you along with just about all re-enactment groups nationwide.
Now when you talk about protection this stuff is Wonderful at protecting
you from sharp and blunt attacks. At this level you even gain bullet
protection depending on the level of craftsmanship.

Spanglehelm
- Between this helm and the Roman centurion helm above many helms throughout
history developed from these times. This helm originated in the northern
countries we now call Norway, Finland, Denmark, etc. The Norse raiders
(Vikings) augmented these helms with face coverings. These coverings
were as simple as the eye plates in this example or full covers shaped
into life like facial representations.

Cheiftan's Helm - This piece is more fantasy than anything else, but many
ancient Norse, Gaelic, Saxon, and Pict tribes used something like this
for their top warriors. For the most part this is a augmented headband.

Small
Shield - Sometimes called bucklers or roundels (if attached to armor).
These could range from fist sized shield used in fencing to one about two
feet across. Used mainly by vikings (norse raiders) in battle and
hung on the sides of the longboat for space and extra defense. The
strapping on the other side was typically made so the shield was ambidextrous.
In the late renaissance period small spike and other bladed novelties were
attached to the small shield to make it both offensive and defensive in
battle. I would point this happened not to long before gunpowder
and BANG! There went that idea until modern day swat teams.

Large Shield - The shield most commonly associated with Knights and modern day Police Swat Teams. Admittedly the swat teams large shields are made of clear plastic with wire strips so the stun gun effect is added. Hmmmm, where have we discussed weapons on shields before I would refer to the above shield description. Now some swat teams still use large, metal shields with clear plastic peep holes for TOUGH situations.
Back in the day when wearing metal
skins were popular these shield may have been wooden with optional leather
coverings or metal. For the majority of illiterate people back then
this painted design -called a "device" - on the shield allowed the common
soldier to rally to his proper lord. It also let him know who to
kill. Go to an S.C.A. figther practice for examples on the sicence
of shield painting called, Heraldry.

Trollish Great sword
It is an adaptation of those European
two handed swords and Scottish claymores. A giant of a blade, it
is at least six feet in length and a foot wide, made of the strongest steel
and metals imaginable. The hilt is enormously large and heavy, and
can easily accommodate two trollish hands. Those non-trolls who try
and lift one must be the strongest of their kith, and should be no less
than six feet tall to do anything more than poke with it. "What?!"
"Hide under you coat or cloak?!" (Your guide falls on the floor laughing
and drooling from your idiocy).

Northern
Axe - This style of axe is favored by trolls of Nordic descent, and is
reminiscent of the Norse warrior's axe (Viking Axe) in construction.
Again with most trollish weapons the major difference is its sheer size
and weight; it would easily be a two-handed weapon in the hands of weaker
warriors. Some of these axes have been modified to include a sharp
point on the rear of the ax head, along the lines of a Frankish ax.
Our representation is one of these such axes. In the hands of a troll,
this is a one handed weapon. You could actually hide this in a trench
coat or a full cloak at the S.C.A.

Hill Axe - This large, double headed ax is greatly favored by Ogres (Unseelie
Trolls) for the sheer devastation it is capable of inflicting. Though
it requires two hands to wield and is more difficult than most other weapons
to master, many consider the damage potential an even trade. Each
of these weapons comes to chest height on the Troll or Ogre wielding it,
and the double heads are nearly as wide as the wielder's chest! Because
of its unwieldy nature, the hill ax is impractical in terrain with difficult
footing or where a free hand might mean the difference between winning
and loosing!
You want to know about how to hide
this in a coat or something similar...

Maul
- When you mention "juggernaut" the Trollish Maul comes to mind.
Being nothing more than a very large, long hafted hammer crafted ot fit
our powerful kith. By far the heaviest of all standard trollish weapons,
the maul has been known to literally flatten weaker opponents. Don't
try and hide this mighty weapon unless you looking to fake a club foot,
and a bad fake it would be.
