"Did I ask too much?
More than a lot?
You gave me nothing
Now it's all I got"
-One, U2

Avarice, Greed, the excessive want of something. In society, Avarice is not only accepted, but promoted. They speak of the need, the drive, to get what you want, and that one should do whatever it takes to achieve their goals. But once they get want they want, they do not stop there. They want more, need more, undescribable want. They burn everyone in their path, uncaring of their emotions, not even regarding them as a creature capable of thinking and feeling exactly as they do. They do not share their wealth with others, not even taking into consideration those who might be starving. No, they strive to kill off nature through their spread of "civilization." They "need" a large house, cars that consume the world's resources, furnishings and accessories made in factories that spew poison into the atmosphere. They destroy what is natural in so many ways. They improve their bodies through unnatural means, changing themselves as their income allows it. Along with greed comes wrath, for anyone who dares get in their way will be cast aside for their personal gain. Then the envy, wishing they were as rich as those with more money than they. There is never enough for them. Of course, that's just greed on a large scale. Others covet what is not properly theirs, even breaking up marriages or relationships because they "must have" them. Such is their greed that they may not even want anything more than to take what others posess, not having any true use for it other than knowing that they were able to take it. And so they bring down society, further creating a hell on earth.
