Blood Test Results - 12 months Post-op

I just got the results to my 12 month post-op blood work:

Proof Positive that Diabetes no longer plagues me.

But first let me show you what the NDDG instructs
Primary Care Physicians (PCP) to use
for the criteria on diagnosing Diabetes:

The National Diabetes Data Group
recommends that Diabetes be diagnosed ONLY when
the following criteria are ALL filled:

1. Fasting plasma glucose is >126 mg/dl
2. Two hour value >200 mg/dl
3. A level between 0 and two hours is >200 mg/dl

Those individuals with values falling in between the reference and the diabetic ranges
are termed “Impaired Glucose Tolerance.”

Now on to my 2 hour Oral Glucose Tolerance Test (OGTT):

Tolerance Glucose - Fasting = 97 Negative, Normal Range 65 - 105

Tolerance Glucose - 30 Minute = 189 Negative, Normal Range (not stated)

Tolerance Glucose - 60 Minute = 167 Negative, Normal Range (not stated)

Tolerance Glucose - 90 Minute = 133 Negative, Normal Range (not stated)

Tolerance Glucose - 2 Hour = 104 Negative, Normal Range <200

Yippee! Yippee! Hooray for Me!
Weight Loss Surgery and my resultant weight loss has CURED me of Diabetes!

Before this surgery I had run blood glucose levels so high the glucose monitor at the doctors clinic read out said “Over Limits of this testing unit” so that means the reading was somewhere over 600 mg/dl ... oh yeah at the times when my blood sugar level was that high I was blinded by the high level of sugar in my blood. The doctors were always able to get it down into the upper 200’s but it would take several days for my eye sight to return to near normal. Even when I was taking daily 210 units of Insulin by injection. Then they lowered my insulin slightly and started me on Rezulin. still my blood sugar levels were too high. So the next step was adding Glucotrol with my insulin and Rezulin. Then with insulin and Rezulin the doctor added Glocophage and stopped the Glucotrol.

The story goes on ... but now I am in control and no longer a diabetic! The only thing in my life that has changed is I had Weight Loss Surgery and in a year I have lost 177 pounds and I was taken totally off all my diabetic medication about six months after surgery- now permanently!

Weight Loss Surgery is good.
