Did Somebody Say, "Surgical Scar?"

Someone once ask me if the scar from this surgery is very noticeable? Well, on my white skin it is noticeable after surgery. But I can tell you the scar begins to lighten up and become less noticeable as time goes on.

I am about four months post-op here in this picture. As you can see I still have the feeding tube in my side.

I have now been on the Liquid Diet for about a week at the time this picture was taken. I am going to start the Puree Diet the following day after Dr. Cowan removes the feeding tube.

Aside from one day, the day of the Emergency Surgery, I have not been allowed to eat since the second week of November 1998! That is about Four Months without eating! Right now the liquids sure do taste good. I never thought I would get so happy over just plain chicken broth or tea. But I really do, my mouth starts watering and I "sip, sip" by the clock. I sip on a 2 ounce serving of liquid then wait 20 minutes and then "sip, sip" again!

My Scar looks kinda bad here but I will get some newer pictures to show you where the scar is not so obvious later.

I am very pleased with the way my scar has lightened up. It is still noticeable but not like it was just a few short months ago. By the way, notice how much smaller my belly is. The next picture I will put here will be after the Tummy Tuck. I am planning a hernia repair with a Tummy Tuck in the Spring of 2000.
