Everytime she saw him, she'd get shivers up her spine, remembering the kiss, and how it made her feel. She could tell he thought of it too, because of the way he'd look at her now. It wasn't like before. It was different. Neither one of them wanted to tell Nick or Tiff, so they kept it inside, but how much longer could they do it for? Not much, and Chloe decided to put and end to it.
This time, since the hotel rooms weren't very big, everyone had their own room. At around 1 am, Chloe wasn't able to sleep. She decided to go and see if anyone was still up. She had a key to Nick's room, so she decided to check him out first. To her dismay, he was sound asleep on the bed. He looked so peaceful, almost angelic, lying there in his sleep. She didn't have the heart to wake him.
She went to Tiff's room, and knocked on the door. No one answered. She knocked a few more times, and still no answer. As she was heading back to her room, she heard one of the doors open up. She turned around, and saw Brian standing in his dorrway.
"Hey..." She said slightly nervous.
"Hey, couldn't sleep?" He asked.
"Nope. I wanted to see if Tiff was awake, but that girl could sleep through a nuclear war..."
"Yeah..." He laughed slightly. Then there came the slilence. The uncomfortable silence. Chloe and Brian just stodd there.
"Okay Brian, we need to talk, and I know you know it..." Chloe managed to say.
"Yeah, we do, come on in..." Chloe nodded, and walked into Brian's room.
Chloe sat on one end of the bed, while Brian was on the other. "Brian, I just, okay. A few weks ago, when we played that game with Jess and Aj, when we had to, kiss each other, I have to admit this, but I felt something there, something I don't feel with nick, something wonderful, and all I want to hear from you, is that you didn't feel that way, and everything will be fine..."
Brian looked at her. "I can't..." He asid quietly. "I can't say that. I felt it too."
Chloe looked down and shook her head. "No, you can't feel this way. It's wrong, we can't, we'd hurt them, we can't... No, this can't be happening..."
Brian got up from his side of the bed, and sat next to Chloe. "It is, and we can't hide it. I know I can't. I mean, I just need to know, if what I felt, was real, or if it was a fluke."
Chloe looked up at him. "Maybe that would be a good idea. Maybe it was just a fluke. Just us imagining things..."
"Maybe..."
The two of them sat there, looking at each other. Chloe looked down at his lips, and back up to his eyes. He did the same, and slowly, the two of them moved their faces together, and kissed. Just as before, they felt something, but this time, there was no need to stop. No one was there to stop them.
Chloe wrapped a hand around his neck, and held him there. Brian put one arm around her waist, and the other held her other hand. They were there for a few minutes, before finally giving way, and stoping.
He looked at her. "I don't think I was a fluke."
"Me neither..." She kissed his lips quickly. "And that's why I have to go."
Brian nodded. "I think you should."
She looked at him one last time, got up, and went back to her room, both of them more confused then when they had first kissed.
The next morning, Nick woke Chloe up, by coming into her room, and kissing her eyelids open. She smiled at the sight of him, and she gave him a huge hug. "I missed you." She whispered into his ears.
"You just saw me a few hours ago..." He replied back, not breaking the hug.
"I know, but it still seems like a long time." She finally let go, and looked at him. His eyes were so blue, and she couldn't help but smile. "Nick...""Yeah?"
"I think I've fallen in love with you." Nick's eyes widdened a bit once he heard those words leave her mouth. Chloe didn't feel wrong saying this to him. Yeah, her and Brian felt something during those two kisses, but what she felt right now with Nick, was something totally different. Suddenly, thw whole thought of Brian left her, and Nick was all that was left in her mind.
"Do you really mean that?"
"I think I do. You just, make me feel so, loved."
He took her in his arms, and hugged her so tightly. "Chloe, I've waited for you to say that for a while. I've wanted to tell you, but never knew if you felt the same way."
"So does that mean?"
"Yes. I love you too." Chloe smiled, and could feel a tear come from her eye. This was all she ever wanted.
As her and Nick were on their way out, her room phone rang. "Hello?"
"Please hold, there is a call for from Montreal."
Chloe looked at Nick funny. "A call from home." She told him. He sat down on the bed next to her.
"Hello?" A voice said.
"Daddy? Why are you calling? I called yesterday..." Chloe began.
Nick watched as Chloe listened to her father. Suddenly, Chloe gasped, and covered up her mouth. She sat down slowly on the bed next to Nick, and grabbed his hand, un-covering her mouth. Her bottom lip began to quiver, and Nick could feel her grip getting a bit tighter.
He watched as s few tears began to fall down her cheek. She sniffled a bit. "Okay Daddy... I'll come."
"Yes, yes, I can get there. I'll be home by tonight."
"Yes, I love you too, bye." Chloe hung up the phone, and immediately fell into Nick's arms. She began to cry, sobbing into his arms. He didn't know what happend, or what to do. He held her tght, and rubbed her back.
She cried for half an hour, before letting up a bit. She sniffled a few times, and wiped her soaking face. She looked up at Nick. "That was my father..." She rubbed her eye a bit. "My sister, was killed this morning. On the way to work, the city bus she was on got into an acident, and she along with three other people died on impact."
Nick couldn't believe what he had just heard. His eyes began to watter up, and her could feel a few tears creep out. "She's gone Nick. She's not coming back..." Chloe began to cry again, and this time, Nick cried along with her. He tried to comfort her, but his light cries weren't helping.
"I have to go home, now. My father and mother need me now." Chloe got up, and began to grab her stuff from all over her room. She threw it into bags, and was in a wild hurry. She was crying while she did this, and although Nick wanted to take her and simply hold her, he knew she would want that even less.
Once she was done, she looked at him. "Could you have someone drive me to the airport? I need to get on a flight as soon as possible."
Nick nodded and got up from the bed. He picked up one of her bags, and they walked out the door.
They both left the hotel without telling anyone, and went to the airport. Chloe was able to get a flight which left in half an hour, and since Nick was with her, there was no need for all the hassle to wait, she was taken directly to the plane.
She stood in fornt of the dor, holding onto Nick. "I'm going to miss you you know?" She said to him.
"I'll miss you more. And just remember. I'm there for you... Always." He looked at her, and she forced a small smile on her face. It was a weak smile.
"I love you Nick." She kissed him softly on the lips, and let go of him. "Always." And with that, she walked onto the plane, not looking back. It would hurt her too much. Nick knew it too.
As Chloe's plane flew away, Nick felt a piece of his heart break way, lost for all time, until he saw Chloe again.
