Aron Racial Template 20 pts.

The Aron are a curious race. They can be considered a sub-race of humanity, since their basic genetic structure and appearance is human and the two races can interbreed. However, the considerable difference in abilities, plus the Aron's insistence, leads them to be classified as a separate race.

The Aron race began as one of humanity's first colonization efforts. A group who felt that the human race was "diluting" its genetic potential purchased a generation ship, the Purity, and launched out in one of the first colonization attempts. Aboard the ship were numerous genetic researchers. Both during the voyage and after arrival, the inhabitants of the ship engaged in selective breeding in order to improve certain traits in their offspring. They destroyed any offspring not meeting these standards. In the course of generations, the Aron developed certain traits, notably strength, agility and beauty, to high levels, but at a cost.

The Aron regressed somewhat in conventional technology during the generations between the launch of the Purity and its arrival. When humanity, having now developed the hyper-light drive, found the Aron, they had a thriving Atomic Age civilization. The Aron asked to join the then-Terran Alliance in order to gain access to its technologies, and humanity accepted with open arms. The Aron moved into positions of power in the Alliance, setting in motion its transformation from Alliance to Imperium.

The Aron today are found throughout Imperium space, in all manner of jobs. They are common in the Stellar Guard, and several planetary governors are Aron. Like the Xenon, Aron are thinly spread, and this is partly a conscious choice. Any large group of Aron is assumed by many to be conspiring, so they spread out to avoid suspicion. However, a strong group within the Aron race desires to seize control of the Imperium, and they work tirelessly to advance, both in strength and power, within the Imperium.

Racial Advantages: ST +2 (20), DX +2 (20), Attractive Appearance (5)

Racial Disadvantages: Intolerance (weak, ill and deformed) (-5), Overconfidence (-10), Reputation (scheming genetic supremacists, -1, all the time) (-5)

Suggested Advantages: High attribute levels are common, as are advantages like High Pain Tolerance, Toughness, and mental advantages. Psionic powers are very rare (they were bred out early on).

Suggested Disadvantages: Glory Hound and Intolerance towards all non-Aron are common, replacing the weaker Intolerance and Overconfidence. Megalomania and Delusions of Aron grandeur are also common.

Alliances and Allies: The Aron regard all races as inferior, especially humans (who they view as "genetic trashcans"). They accept their position within the Imperium grudgingly, and are constantly trying to make members of other races look bad, especially the Xenon.
