The Charger Main Battle Tank is the mainstay of the Guard armored forces. With a powerful main gun, solid armor, and a contra-grav flight system for maneuverability, the Charger is an excellent unit for far-ranging exploitation missions behind enemy lines. The Charger is designed to maneuver around anything it can't blast apart, and fulfills this role quite well. While it doesn't have the range of weapons or raw firepower of the Broadsword and Claymore, it is more maneuverable than either, as well as substantially cheaper. While the troops may not care, this low price tag keeps the Charger in the High Command's good graces, and thus ensures it's continued use in battle.
The Stallion Infantry Fighting Vehicle is a workhorse vehicle. It transports both infantry and power armor squads to the battlefield, and provides fire support once the squad is dismounted. Using a contra-grav propulsion system, the Stallion can keep up with Charger MBTs on penetration missions. The Stallion is one of the largest vehicles in the Stellar Guard, allowing for carriage of up to 9 Legionnaire suits or copious space for cargo and equipment modules. Still, the Stallion can move very quickly both behind and on the battlefield, enabling Guard mechanized infantry to show up where the enemy least expects them.
The Starhawk Rocket Cycle isn't quite a ground vehicle, but it tends to defy classification. The light counterpart to the Dragoon robot, Starhawks act as flying infantry support, cutting down enemy infantry with their Gatling blaster, and using their missiles to attack and annoy enemy power armor and robots. Equipped with the same basic sensor pack as the Dragoon, the Starhawk is an excellent recon unit, with capable sensors and its small enough that robots won't notice it often.
The Legionnaire Battlesuit is the standard heavy infantry suit of the Stellar Guard. While the suit only has a built-in gauss gun and three missiles, the Legionnaire can carry any heavy weapon of the Stellar Guard. The Legionnaire is equally suitable as heavy support for light infantry or as infantry support for heavy forces. Wherever Stellar Guard forces go, the Legionnaire is always among them, doing all the dirty jobs too tough for regular infantry and too nasty for the "glamour" units.
The Ghost Special Operations Battlesuit is a variant of the Legionnaire. It sacrifices armor for jump jets, improved comm and jamming systems, and extensive stealth and IR cloaking. The Ghost is commonly issued to Special Operations teams when these units are assigned to attack a heavy target. In such situations, the Ghost's limited built-in weaponry is not as much of a limitation, and it is almost undetectable, hence its name. It is also space-capable and is commonly used by Marine boarding parties.
The Broadsword Battle Robot is the mainstay of the Ground Forces robot forces. Although one of the slowest units on the field, it's forte is agility and firepower, and these is has in spades. The Broadsword punches open holes in enemy lines for more mobile units to exploit. While it might take a while to get to a fight in progress, the Broadsword is quite capable once it gets there. The Broadsword's designed role is breaking up enemy fixed defenses, not stomping on mobile forces. Given a target and time to get there, the Broadsword can smash through just about anything.
The Dragoon Cavalry Robot is the pride and joy of the Ground Forces Cavalry. Exceptionally maneuverable and fast both on the ground and in the air, the Dragoon also packs the same main gun and force sword as the Broadsword, although the missile system is much smaller. Equipped with advanced sensors, the Dragoon is an excellent recon and fast strike unit, its designed roles.
