Near the entrance
to Gorda Sound is Leverick Bay and a Pusser's Rum store. We anchored here for the
evening and then took a 20 minute dingy ride to the far end of the sound to the Bitter End
Yacht Club. Moorings was hosting a party for all Moorings charterers. It was a
good opportunity to meet some of the Moorings staff and eat lots of great food (BBQ
chicken, steak, lobster and all the trimmings). A steel band provided the
entertainment. At the end of the evening, we had a dingy race across with sound with
some of the Moorings staff to Pusser's Store. When we arrived, the band there had
just finished and were packing up. We moved the party on to "Carpe
Diem" where Nicholas, Sherry, Pam and Enrich help us drink some wine and eat
crackers and chocolate chip cookies.
The next morning we woke
and looked around the boat and happened to see 2 "visitors". Two small
sharks were swimming back and forth between the boat and the dingy. We decided to
motor back to the other side of the bay and stay at the Bitter End Yacht Club for another
night.
Here is the
Bitter End Yacht Club and Resort. Note how blue the water is. It was really
like that!
