| | In recreating an Elizabethan village, words are important. Many
things said back then aren't said now. Did you know the word
"vegetable" was not proper in the 16th century? The proper term
was "vegetive." To the left are links to my current vernacular
files. One is arranged alphabetically by period word. One is arranged by
alphabetically modern
equivalent. When I have completed adding all my documents to this site, I
will add a search feature so you can look for specific terms and find out the
