My great-great grandparents Jane Blackburn(born 1842)and Henry Pare (born 1842)

MY HERITAGE

I am very proud of my heritage. On my father's side I found from my research that I am mostly Norman French, British, and Scottish. I can now trace a large portion of my ancestry back to within 30 years of William the Conqueror's reign in England. My ancestors who first came to America's shores were Quakers who sailed with William Penn and settled in Bucks County, Pennsylvania and Burlington County, New Jersey. Anyone with the last name of Kirkbride or Woolston is a relative of mine. Kirkbride and Woolston are towns in the northern most part of England. Through these lines, we are related to Barons and knights.

STOP THE PRESSES! Further probing on my father's side has linked us to royalty back to Edward III of England. Through his bloodline we're as mixed a bag as ever there was. We are related to gentry and royalty from Scotland, England, France, Luxembourg, Germany, Belgium, Serbia, Rome, Bohemia, Wales, Bulgaria, Portugal, Ireland, Holland, Spain, Poland, Hungary, Russia, Greece, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Switzerland, Austria, Israel, and Italy. Not only that, but we are related to the following presidents: George Bush, Franklin Roosevelt, and George Washington. In fact, we go back to Alfred The Great and Charlemagne. I'll keep probing. Maybe I'm related to some of you.

My mother's side of the family gives me my Dutch, Scotch-Irish, Welsh, Irish and Cherokee side. My family is supposed to be related to the famous Whetzels of West Virginia. From this side we are supposed to be part Native American. This side has been difficult to trace.

NEWS FLASH! Thanks to some great detective work by about five new-found cousins, we have been able to trace our ancestry back to Valley Forge, PA where my great-great-great grandmother, Catherine Wetzel was born and raised. She was the cousin of the famous frontiersman Lewis Wetzel. We're still checking this side of the family out.

If you are related at all to the John Moore family from Maryland or the John Taylor Sr. family from Pennsylvania, I'd love to hear from you.

Sandy
