"More on the lockout..." (July 23, 1998)

Is it just me, or does anyone really care about this lockout? I surely don't. I won't miss Team USA and their professional players demolish the other teams at the World Championships in Greece this year either. I'm looking forward to watching it on TV, if it is on TV. I'm sure NBC or TNT or whoever is going to carry it will probably drop it like a hot potato because there is no star power. Either way, I'm not too worse off.

I would have liked to see more college players on the USA team like the old days, remember the 1984 and 1988 Olympic Teams. How many NBA all-stars were on that team? Too many to name.

Bottom line, if the strike is over by the beginning of the season, I'm happy. If it's not, then I'll just have to watch more college basketball and football to fill the sports void. I think I speak for many when I say: "Hey you NBA and union guys, you are shooting yourselves in the foot. Get this deal done or you're going to have fans lose interest like baseball." But that's just my opinion, and I could be wrong.
