- Although it could be changed, the original scoring system was set in a way
to which meant to equalize each position. The average score of the
leagues QB’s would average the scores of TWO running backs, THREE wide
receivers and the ONE defense. Bryan could do the 1999 tally and see
if some tweaking is needed. You may want to lower defensive scoring
but what would that do to FIFTH round picks like Seattle. Wouldn’t
that make it stupid to draft a defense that early? It might confuse
PRI’s draft strategy! Vega and VB definitely should buy some rounds
now that Bryan has cut of beers at 230.

- I really think we need to think about some slight rule changes. I know all
of my ideas will be shot down the minute they hit everyone's ears, but there
are some points that need to be addressed. I plan on bringing a SMALL list.
Certain points awarded for defenses need to be decreased. Tds scored by any
player running need to be scored the same. Tds receiving need to be scored
on the same scale for every player. Special teams TDs by a WR or RB need to
count for that player, since fumbles already do! Missed FG's (-3?). The
league is good but could be better. As always, we need to have complete
participation throughout the season too. I for one know I could find some
people happy to join, if that's the problem. And to Vega and Venwazballs,
don't be afraid to buy a few rounds of beer at the
party!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (since you won almost all the FUCKING
money!)

- To "Make an Effort"...I agree. Outside of myself who does
this site and the stats, being in the league doesn't take up much time at
all. If someone doesn't want to put forth the minimum effort to
compete, they should pack it up at this seasons end. Not only does it
make them look dumb AND cost them $$$, it potentially screws up the rest of
the league. I'm the one that bitches the most about it and am glad to

- Here's a question? Why spend money joining a league and going thru the
draft when by week 2 you're already throwing in the towel. It's a complete
joke and fucks up the entire league when teams can't make the effort to
submit lineups and know when bye weeks are occurring. Why don't you just do
everyone a favor and not rejoin. It sucks for everyone. You cannot tell me
that it takes that much time out of a busy schedule to spend 5 minutes on a
Thursday checking to see which teams have byes and submitting a lineup. It
reminds me of the White Sox/Giants trade, or the Bulls
"rebuilding" bullshit--why even take part when you don't even give
yourself a chance. And by the way, I hope the Rednecks (one of the few teams
that does make an effort) decide to fuck up this week and play injured or
bye week players so we can win. Might as well win that way since nobody else
gives a shit.

Wishing luck to Pull My Finger this weekend and here's hoping the Dukes

- Bryan has a problem. He knows that his 5th round defensive draft
pick was a waste. To make up for it, he cries about it like a stuck pig.
The simple fact is that although Seatle is currently the number one defense
they do not justify a 5th round pick. You see, what really matters is
the point spread throughout the position. If you look at the
point difference between the 1st and the 10th place defense, it comes
down to 56 points or 7 points per game on average for the year to date.
By the way the number two and three defenses were not even drafted.
They are currently scoring only a point or two less per week. The same
can not be said for QB’s or other skill positions. The point spread
drops more rapidly and therefore it is more important to draft those
positions earlier. These are the rules the Red Necks follow on draft
day and although our execution may not be the best, the logic holds.
The rest of the league would be wise and follow our sure fire and proven
draft methods.

- As usual I have to give my two thumbs up to Russ and his "right on

get away with all these shenanigans and not have the league genius uncover
the big scam. Sure, we win all the important roll-offs…in fact our
last one, Byron Hanspard, was so great that somehow he'll carry us to
another league championship while residing in the free agent pool.
Just for kicks, I purposely use my High Tech Rednecks special two-sided die
when HTR is involved in any roll-off. I just gave them a 6 in the
first round of the Griese roll-off so they wouldn't suspect anything.
Also, we rigged the random pull-numbers-out-of-the-hat deal so that PRI
would most assuredly be in the weakest conference (never mind that Venwaz is
part of it). However, my crowning achievement was hiding in the Denver
Broncos locker room and smacking Terrell Davis in the knee with a lead pipe
when he wasn't looking…just so HTR would lose their #1 draft pick.
SO, you got me. SHAME ON YOU, SFFL league, for not figuring all of
this out sooner. I only have one question for Russ - you seem to blame
your shortcoming on my being commish…but didn't HTR still suck when YOU

- Hey Paul I hope you were kidding about the roll-off favoritism regarding
the Rednecks. I wish the transaction page listed the full details but
I assure you the favoritism goes against the famous Red Necks. It has
been this way ever since Bryan became commissioner. Look at the
record, we have won only 1 FUCKING roll-off this year. We have lost
about five. Bryan makes comments about us picking up Tiki Barber
but walk a mile (or 3 years and couple hundred bucks) in my shoes and you
would do the same. Dave and I don’t even try for good players
because we know it’s money down the drain. Somehow the Red Necks die
only has two numbers on it, a 1and a 2. The only favoritism has (not
suprisingly) gone PRI’s way. Not only do they win important
roll-offs but they have also padded their conference with the likes of the

- To the league, on a more serious note than my colorful commentary far
below: I don’t know what else to say that hasn’t already been
explained and frankly don’t feel the need to further justify or defend
this situation. However, so that EVERYONE understands…the bottom
line is that it was a ruling that did NOT compromise any rule additions or
modifications. Had nobody used it this past week, it probably would
not have even been mentioned due to these just-stated reasons. THINK ABOUT
IT. Sadly, what seems to be the major bitch from the vocal minority is
that the commish was the first to implement it AND it did happen to work out
in my favor. OK, I’d agree that seems rather coincidental, but does
that in itself make it cheating? I still rolled the dice like everyone
else…geez, Gene and I just felt lucky! If the issue is on
withholding information, i.e., “not telling the rest of the league”,
then please tell me when I was supposed to bring it up. ANYONE could
have either asked me this or just done it, and it would have been fine.
Outside of rule changes or amendments, this was handled no differently than
other issues or questions that have come up in the past. It’s too
bad that the idea only occurred to one person. [new paragraph] Every
year there have been issues that, as the commish, I’ve had to make
decisions on that were not only “last minute” but not always popular
with everyone. However, I believe I’ve been more than fair with info
sharing and rulings; I have gladly answered all questions directed my way
and try to give the benefit of the doubt whenever possible. The point
is that we all want the league to be FAIR and FUN. If you don’t
agree with me, feel the league isn’t fair and that the commish is
cheating…well, that’s a shame, and perhaps you should join another
league next year. Hopefully this will put an end to what should not
have been a major issue – so in parting I should thank Russ for the idea,
and by all means everyone feel free to use his idea to fatten the league
pot.

- I do not agree w/how the whole Hanspard transaction went down. Although it
wasn't that big of a deal, I do think if teams had known that this
underhanded means of bidding was legal, it would have been put to use long
before this transaction. Don't you think that there have been many occasions
where teams have had two shitty or inj players at one position in past
years, and only really wanted one particular free agent? Now, w/this year's
rules, all it may do is create more headaches for evreyone involved when
attempting to acquire a crappy free agent. Hopefully most of the headaches
are THE COMMISH's. Because, although he does a hell of a job on being
commish, it seems that these rules that raise ?'s always seem to wind up in
his favor--regardless if Hanspard does well or not, he wouldn't have had
him. So I guess all we can do is prepare for the next shady, shifty,
basakwards move that benefits anyone but ourselves.

- Interesting comment Russ...being that I've been in a whopping THREE
roll-offs over the past TWO seasons and won two of 'em, that's a pretty good
percentage. Last year I was on the Holcome side of the
"Holmes-Holcombe" rule, and that turned out to be a great
acquisition. Perhaps if I jumped on the bandwagon every week like some
of the others I'd lose a few more.

Accomplished! Thanks to the Cheesy-Poofs (you're probably right about
Atlanta) and Russ for the comments. This wasn't some big secret the
commish was holding back from the league - it happened fast and was, as Russ
said, answering his question. Certainly some of this negativity is due
to it being MY team being the benefactor (you can cut the BS, you know
that's true). Just remember this is all for fun, so lighten up people.

results e-mail. This isn't a fucking rules change, amendment, addition
NOR is it cheating...so it's not like any urgent summit meeting needed to be
called for discussion. Russ made a couple statements below which
pretty much clear up the situation. NO BIG DEAL. You and the
Assholes are the only ones who were overly vocal on the situation. So,
instead of acting like a whiny prick, put your $$$ where your bigass mouth

- I guess may partial submittal shows how brilliant I am......anyhow, my
story starts below........continuing....I have always wondered how the other
teams work their drop adds (except the Dukes) because prior years show Dave
and I must be doing something wrong. I thought of all sort of
different methods of "if I lose this guy in a roll-off, I want to pick
up this guy". Nothing was with-in the rules. I thought that
maybe doing want Bryan did was on the borderline so I asked for his prior
ruling. He had no problem with it and nor do I. I'm just glad I
didn't submit two players for O'Donnel.

- Look, the Red Necks were in need for a starting QB for this week. So
I'm getting sick and tired of loosing every Fucking roll-off and tried to
figure a way of improving our odds at getting a player we might
actually want. (To show how brilliant I actually am, I was
actually worried about getting O'Donnel or Gannon I figured the band
wagon jumpers would be all over these two superstars. To be honest

- For the record - We didn't bitch about how the "Commish" pulled
off his acquisition of Hanspard. It should make for some interesting
roll-offs the rest of the year. Lay-off the "Commish"

- You know, I take the time to explain a pretty cool discovery, and I get
back almost exactly what I expected. GEE, what a surprise!
Imagine, the teams that lost in the Hanspard roll-off write back to bitch.
The others said nothing. I'm shocked. You know
what...BOO-FUCKING-HOO. We were facing the prospect of having to start
Larry Centers (for Gods sake), and feel quite fortunate that we won the roll
off. By the way, the "drop two player" deal is NOT a rules
change or addition, nor is it illegal. If I chose to drop half of my
shitty lineup, each with the chance to pick up one particular player, I
could do so. SO COULD YOU. The fact that you didn't think about
it in the past is just too-fucking-bad. Know what, I didn't think of
it either. RUSSELL did. That's right, the same guy who was the
first to actually get the "Holmes-Holcombe" tiered deal right last
year to help his free agent pickup chances. Gotta hand it to him,
outside of draft day he does show streaks of brilliance. As for you
complainers - primarily the Assholes & Blind Squirrels - YOU are the
ones with weak arguments to the contrary. You even state that there's
nothing in the rules that indicates this was wrong. Well, NO SHIT...if
there was we would not have done it, and I would have told Russ that his
idea wouldn't work. My feelings are that you pussies would have said
NOTHING if PRI didn't win the roll-off, so this is now your excuse to imply
that we're cheating to help ourselves. Real nice, guys. When you
get a minute, pull your finger out of your nose and use it to flip through
the rules book...take a good, long, hard look at the big highlighed box on
the last page. See what that says? Do I need to spell it out for
you? Interpretation or not, I AM following the rules, and you're just
pissed that by doing something that was never done before, you didn't get
one player. Jamal Anderson will be available on waivers in a couple
weeks, go grab him. Until then GO FUCK YOURSELVES.
