Introduction

Eunice Mary (Emma) Troll was born in Wilmington, Greene Co., Ill., on May 17, 1857, and died in Bright, Douglas Co., Washington, on June 09, 1916. She was the daughter of Martin Troll and Eva Mary Schaffer. Emma married William Campbell Snodgrass, son of William Snodgrass and Rachel Warden of Ohio, on May 10, 1882, in Mansfield, Richland County, Ohio. William was born June 19, 1855, in Jackson Twp., Crawford Co., Ohio, and died December 22, 1931, in Bright, Douglas Co., Washington. 

Children of William and Emma all but the last born in Mansfield, Richland County, Ohio, were:

1-Martin Snodgrass, born November 1885, died 1918 at Bright, Douglas Co., Washington:
2-Harriet Caroline Snodgrass, born November 17, 1888, died July 06, 1973, in Ephrata, Grant Co., Washington, married John Elliot:
3-Clyde Troll Snodgrass, born February 07, 1890, died February 1965, in Ephrata, Grant Co., Washington, married Maria Celina Beaulieu:
4-Thomas William Snodgrass, born December 1892:
5-Infant Snodgrass, born April 26, 1895, died April 27, 1895, buried Belleville Cemetery (both events having taken place in Jefferson Twp., Crawford Co., Ohio).

Cemetery Records

Highland (Baird) Cemetery, Douglas County, WA., compiled and submitted by Fred Pflugrath March 20,1999. Located .2 miles east of mile post 181 on Highway 2 (west of Coulee City). Take county road "L" SE .3 miles north. At the intersection, turn west and travel about .6 miles to the cemetery and the Old Baird School House which has been moved to that spot. T24N R26E Section 1. From the appearance, the cemetery is about 5+ acres in size. The part of the cemetery that is used, had been prepared for Memorial Day and was still in good shape. Excerpts from the obituary of Emma (Troll) Snodgrass --- Death occurred on June 09, 1916, at Bright, Douglas Co., Washington, USA:

The death of Mrs. William Snodgrass occurred at 2:20am Monday, at her home ion Bright. Further on the following is written; Besides the husband, Mrs. Snodgrass is survived by three sons; Martin R. and Thomas W. of Bright, and Clyde T. of Deroche, B.C.; one daughter, Harriet C. of Bright, besides several sisters and brothers; Mrs. J. M. Riter, Mrs. F. H. Fox, and Mrs. K. P. Troll, of Mansfield, Ohio; M. C. Troll, of Seattle, and R. A. Troll, of Douglas, Alaska.
