-AUGUST '99 HOOKUP OF THE MONTH - ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE BLAIR WITCH PROJECT!!- Well. today (July 30th) the movie, The Blair Witch Project, opened up in theaters around the country. And I didn't wait, as I have been anticipating this film for quite a while now, so I ended up going to the first showing of it today at the local theater. And, my god, I loved this film, in fact, I think it has become one of my all time favorites, as it is unlike any other movie I have ever seen and it was scary as hell!! First off, a brief synopsis of what this is all about......
"The Blair Witch Project" is a "documentary" of three filmmakers who go into a forest in Maryland to film and get footage of a supposed myth in the area called the Blair Witch. The three filmakers, one woman and two men, doing this for a college project, end up never returning to civilization and their bodies are never discovered. However, officials investigating their dissapearences end up finding footage shot from the trio in the woods and this is where the terror begins.... Now then, I saw the film today and I immediately went to the web and found tons of extraordinary info on the pre and post-production as well as various other things associated with TBWP. See, the thing about this movie is the internet is actually an intrical part of it, providing a lot of history and information on what Blair Witch is all about.
