Jobs
| Searching for a job in Denmark? Here are some tips and homepages.
I have been actively looking for a new job this month and so I can pass on
some of the things I have discovered.
Here are the main agencies I have come across:
www.hartmanns.dk
www.k-k.dk
www.i-consult.dk
www.it-jobbank.dk
www.stepstone.dk
www.globalsearch.dk
www.urval.dk (good examples on building a CV and replying to positions)
www.jobzonen.dk
Tip from Rhiannon who works at Novo Nordisk where all the work is done in
English. There are some jobs on the Novo Web site, and the address is:
www.novonordisk.com. There is a section
with English jobs as well as Danish. Good Luck and I hope it helps.
| Heather Brage came across this website,
and thought she would pass it along. It is http://www.omarjob.nu/
, which is a site for new people to Denmark (degree educated) to help
them find jobs. Basically it is for people who are educated outside
Denmark but who have useful skills. It has sponsorship from some pretty
big companies, including Novozymes, Scandia, DTU.

Long Lost Friends
| www.eurocircle.com
EuroCircle is an informal network
of European professionals. It has no political, religious, or ethnic
affiliations. It is a
place where ideas, thoughts and information are exchanged freely between all
European and non-European individuals, companies and other institutions.
The EuroCircle organization
together with the on-line community at EuroCircle.com creates opportunities
for its members in personal and professional arenas within the safety of a
secure environment. Realizing that community service develops better
citizens, EuroCircle encourages its members to play an active role in their
respective local communities. All
of the EuroCircle activities are run by enthusiastic volunteers.

| In the February issue of the newsletter, Christine Møller had passed on
information about www.friendsreunited.co.uk
, a site for locating long lost school friends. As an Australian
I signed up for a similar website for locating Australian and New Zealand
friends which is http://www.schoolfriends.com.au/
. This site has a database of over 10,000 primary schools, high schools,
universities and TAFE's around Australia and New Zealand from remote outback
schools to inner city schools. I was also able to hunt out http://www.highschoolalumni.com/
for our American members. The American site has listings for over 33,000
schools across the country, and all the above sites have free registration,
so hopefully they will put you in touch with some old friends with whom you
may have lost touch. Another site that fellow Australians might be
interested in is Australians Abroad. http://www.coolabah.com/oz/ozindex.cfm
This covers lots of issues such as duel citizenship, Expat issues, overseas
voting and other information which may be useful. I've also found the
following sites for American members (American Citizens Abroad) http://www.aca.ch/
and (American Expatriates in Europe) http://www.expatboards.com/General/Americans.shtml

| For those of us with adolescents in the
house, Teen Advice Online http://www.teenadviceonline.org
is a web site that was established in 1996 where teens and parents
can submit their questions. In order to receive helpful advice, you
need to describe your problem in depth. The people running this site
don't give professional advice, but it is a great forum for kids and
parents that covers aspects from family issues, relationships and
dating, gender identity, depression, school, friendship and substance
abuse to name just a few. Also has some excellent articles. |
