THE ROCKSTAR

Granted; sandwich kicks ass. Their songs are great, their style is great, their fashion sense is fantastic. During live performances though, people need to focus on something in the band if they want to have that Sandwich experience. That focus is Marc Abaya. When I call Marc a "rock star", I mean nothing derogatory, quite the opposite in fact. Marc exemplifies everything that is BIG about rock, everything that used to make rock musicians so untouchable for their fans. The face, the moves, the body, that fucking look he makes that causes all the girls to start gravitating towards the stage. When Marc is onstage, it's as if he's actually saying with his movement "Come to me babies. I am sex". Marc is actually Sandwich's master of image, Sandwich's number one advantage.
