Holiday Preparations

"You haven't made much progress," the Cigarette-Smoking Man told his underling.  "Perhaps someone else would be better suited for this assignment."

"It's a bit difficult to work on Ms. Molestador when she lives on the other side of the country."

"She will be in the DC area for Thanksgiving."

"For all of two to four days.  That's hardly appropriate given the need for subtlety this job entails."

"Then she'll need to be convinced to stay closer," the Cigarette-Smoking Man said while stamping out the cigarette he'd been smoking.  "I'll send some files which should make your job easier."

"I've never seen anyone who was going away on holiday look so glum," Methos said.  "You'd think you were about to face the inquisition, Brooklyn."  Methos often called Reina "Brooklyn" because of her accent.

"I might as well be," Reina said.  "I'm going to visit Jonathan.  It's about the same."

"I was around for the inquisition.  Trust me your brother isn't that bad."

"Then why don't you go to DC and visit him."

"He's not my type."

"Very funny."

"You don't have to go."  MacLeod told her.

Reina sighed dramatically.  "Yes I do.  Otherwise, Jonathan will never let me hear the end of it.  It's just fine for him to break promises to me because it's for my own good but God forbid I should do the same and all hell breaks loose.  Especially since it's Thanksgiving.

"Ah, yes the annual excuse to overeat and watch TV," Methos shook his head in disgust.  "If the really wanted to celebrate indulgences in excess properly they would pattern it after the Romans.  Now they knew how to throw a party."

Reina couldn't think of anything to one-up Methos' last statement.  At least not anything that wouldn't land her in the middle of a history lesson.  She hadn't the time nor the inclination to listen to a story about the Roman banquets and the orgies which followed.  "On that note I'm leaving.  I'll be back in a few days," she said.

"Have a good trip, Reina," Duncan said.

"Bye Brooklyn," Methos called behind her.

"Later!  Oh and don't throw any wild parties at my place while I'm gone okay, Old Man?"  She added with a wink.
