LAX Airport
Where the hell did Jonathan get his information? Reina thought. If Carrie didn't spill, who did? Duncan wouldn't and Richie wouldn't and the Moore's wouldn't so who does that leave? Nobody but the watcher. But Joe didn't mention sharing the information that they gathered with law enforcement types. And I doubt that Duncan would remain friends with someone who would go telling tales of beheadings to the police. So who could it be? Reina looked up at the board waiting for her plane to start boarding. She had left the Moore's a couple of hours ago leaving the question unpondered until now. She didn't mention anything to Mrs. Moore. She didn't want to worry her. But it was starting to irritate her. She hated not knowing something.
The watcher is dead. She told herself. And just when did Jonathan find out about the incident? Could Peter have relayed details of your last trip to Jonathan? It's not like he wouldn't have known about the connection. He obviously has some knowledge of who I do and don't associate with. And if Peter did share the information with Jonathan, why would he do that?
"Good evening Ms. Molestador. I trust you had a good visit with Mrs. Moore."
Reina bristled at the sound of the voice. She remembered the last time she heard it. She was in the garage of her building on her way to meet Richie after a grueling day spent with the Seacouver police proving her innocence in the murder of her watcher. She had hoped that she wouldn't be hearing from this man again. Reina turned to face the owner of the voice as her eyes narrowed. Her displeasure upon seeing him was quite obvious.
"I told you we'd see one another again," the cigarette smoking man said.
Reina had no idea what to call him. The man never gave her a name. "What do you want?"
"Right now nothing. This is just another demonstration of how far we reach."
"You told Jonathan about my last trip to Los Angeles," Reina said unnecessarily. "What is it with you people? Do you force everyone to tow the line this way? How does it go? Cooperate or end up in a psych ward? Not exactly the way to instill loyalty."
"Just a reminder of what can happen."
"Duly noted."
"I still have that information you seek."
"I don't want anything from you. I'll get it on my own," Reina snapped. "There's no way in hell I'm going to allow myself to become indebted to you. Don't darken my door step again."
"You should be more careful. It's not a good idea to mouth off to everyone who annoys you. It's a dangerous habit," the Cigarette Smoking man said. "We will see one another again," he said as he walked away."
"You keep saying that," Reina complained. "What part of 'I don't want to see you again' did you not understand?"
The Cigarette Smoking man turned and smiled creepily. "We don't always get what we want. Until next time Ms. Molestador."
