Academy Daze -- A Bouncing Boy Elseworlds Fan-Fic
Chapter 1
*Note the following fan-fic will take place in the hypertimeline seen in the wonderful "Superboy's Legion" mini...taking place about a year or two after the fight with Luthor and the Fatal Five. Here Chuck Taine is a full-fledged Legionnaire, and has proved his heroic worth despite the odd nature of his powers. The series is highly reccomended...and I hope I can evoke it's fun in this li'l story. I should be so lucky.

"I'm to be a....what???"
Bouncing Boy sat in the conference room of Legion Headquarters, called there by current team leader Ultra Boy for a "special assignment"...knowing Jo that could mean infiltrating the League of Super-Assasins to tracking down the so-called "Saturn Queen of Crime" who'd been in the tabloid vids lately. Thus, Chuck was prepared to be surprised by the latest Ultra-brainstorm....and it still wasn't what he'd been ready for.
"You're being assigned as of next week as a part-time teacher at the new Legion Academy on Winath." Jo smiled. "Out of all the team's profiles, you scored highest on skills in teaching teamwork, power control..."
"When your body is nearly indestructible and rebounds at high speeds I kind of had to learn that fast...I'm flattered...but wouldn't someone like Val or Imra have more experience in teaching?"
"Oh, Karate Kid is going to be a part-time teacher too ...Saturn Girl is busy right now...and like I said, according to the tests YOU have the stuff BB." Jo turned around and pulled out a datacube. "The team is too busy to hold try-outs currently...but there's that doesn't keep every darn kid with a gimmick from across the whole Milky Way from sending in applications. With the Academy the Legion can have a pool of trained, READY heroes to help out...and I KNOW you are dedicated to helping the Legion be all it can Chuck."
"Oh heck...I'll see how it works out. "It WILL work out Bouncing Boy. What could go wrong?" There was a pause as both Legionnaires suddenly had just what COULD go wrong rush into there brains.
"Knock on wood?" offered Chuck?
"That'll work."

In the cafeteria, response to Chuck's new part-time assigment was immediate.
Matter-Eater Lad: Be sure to use the Planetary Chance Machine to choose who goes first in the drills!
Everyone Else: NO!!!!
Matter Eater Lad: Kidding, kidding...
Ferro Lad: I'm glad it's just part-time...with you and Val gone, who will help me show the rest o' these slobs how heroism is do-uh...hey Kal-El...didn't see you come in.
Triplicate Girl: I don't know why I wasn't chosen...don't I know Tri- Jitsu better than anyone?
*shift*
Maybe because ONLY Carrggites can do it oh wise one?!?
*shift*
Hey Val, maybe we could teach a joint class?
(whisper) Is she just trying to stay close to Karate Kid? He's cute and all but..
(whisper, a bit too loud) Nah! She's lusting after BB...can't you feel it? Ooops...did everyone else hear that??
*sigh* I can't take you two ANYWHERE...

THE NEXT WEEK, LEGION ACADEMY, WINATH- Bouncing Boy stat behind the counter, Karate Kid seated by him. Bouncing Boy stands up, checking his omnicom.
"*ahem* I'm pleased to welcome all of you sentients to your chance to start training here at the Academy. Karate Kid and I will be your part-time teachers, at other times you will be helped by the Academy staff...and it is hoped yourselves as you learn and grow. Will applicant #1 step forward.?"
(A young man in a brightly patterned leotard come forward)
"Hi, I'm sure you've heard of ME before...uh...haven't you? No? Let me introduce myself then. I call myself PLAID LAD!!!"
(Karate Kid sneezes...at least that's what he acts like it was Bouncing Boy's face twists for a moment.)
*Bouncing Boy under his breath* "Going to be a LONG day..."
