THE WATCHMEN SCORE ANOTHER GOLD
RECORD
Author Unknown
The Watchmen's fourth album Silent Radar has just
been certified Gold in Canada. Selling over 50,000
copies since its release in March of this year,
Silent
Radar is on its way to becoming another platinum
album for The Watchmen. The album's second
single "Any Day Now" has been burning up the
Rock Radio charts, breaking into the Top 10 last
week. This follows the success of the first single
"Stereo", making this the second Top 10 single from
the album. "Any Day Now" is also gaining
momentum at Top 40 Radio and is in heavy rotation
and the Top 20 at MuchMusic.
In addition to their infectious songs, The Watchmen
are known for using technology to stay in touch with
their fans in Canada and around the world. Their
interactive web site, found at www.silentradar.com,
featured sneak previews of Silent Radar before its
release. The band's completely redesigned website
was launched on August 4, and promises to be as
successful as their Silent Radar site. The website,
found at www.the-watchmen.com, is called WAG
MAGAZINE. This new site has been modeled after
a traditional magazine and contains articles and
reviews written by the band.
Silent Radar is also the first CD to utilize
CD-Active
technology. This technological advancement enables
fans to use the CD to unlock secret pages of The
Watchmen's website.
The Watchmen are currently on tour in Canada and
the United States. They just completed a four-day
run of shows in Chicago, opening up for The
Tragically Hip. Fans can stay up-to-date by logging
onto www.the-watchmen.com for the band's tour
diary and photos.
