The Tralf-Buffalo,NY, July 31st 99

by Lindsay

Most people thought my going all the way to Buffalo from where I live to see a concert was a little much...but it was well worth the long drive in the horrible weather! It took us a little time to find the building but once we did I was very relieved. It didn't look like it would be a big place inside though, so I was worried there wouldn't be many people. Although there turned out to be a great turn out to the somewhat small place. Before the show we saw the guys walking around inside and said hello.
After waiting awhile for the doors to open, we were finally let in to find a place to sit. A few minutes later one of my friends and fellow WM fan decides to confuse me...thanks Ron...;) It was great meeting you though. =)
So soon the first band came out...wearing suits! It was hot enough already in that place...I can't believe they survived up on stage w/ the lights on them. I don't remember what the band was called...if someone remembers... let me know.
When The Watchmen finally came out I was so excited! It was a long time since the last concert! (well Jan...but still!) They added lots of different things to songs...made some longer...it was really cool. =) I don't like when bands just go and play exactly whats on the CD. It's so boring. I love how the audience was singing parts of the songs and Danny would just sing something else. =) They played one GREAT performance of Lusitana!! The I must say I love that song so I was glad they did it so great! The new songs they did sounded like they will be great. I really like Everything Is Grey. They came out twice after, ending w/ the beautiful Brighter Hell. It was an awesome ending to a fabulous concert!
After the show we waited around to find this guy that was supposed to bring us backstage. We couldn't get his attention and I was getting nervous that I wouldn't get back but then I saw Ken come out and motion for us to come back! It was amazing! I got a group shot w/ me (minus Sammy...he was somewhere else at the time) that hopefully will turn out great!
The night was great! My friend and I had a blast and I can't wait to see the Watchmen again at Humble and Fred Fest here in great Toronto!!
(I'll be getting a set list hopefully soon!!)
