SILVER CARP

Molitrisc Hypophthalmichthys


 

Distinctive characters : Body stout, compressed, Abdomen strongly compressed with a sharp keel from breast to vent. Upper jaw a little protruded upward a little longer than the lower; lower jaw with a tubercle. Dorsal fin inserted behind pelvic fins, or above tip of pectoral fins with 10 rays ( 7 branched). Anal fin with 14-17 rays (12-14 branched). Caudal fin forked.

Species: Hypothalmichthys molitrix (Valenciennes)
