The previous year seemed as though it would be the greatest test of my patience...............how wrong I was. In March I inquired with Thornton about my hood, they said it should ship in a few weeks. A few weeks came & went - 5 weeks to be exact. Then they said they hoped to get their parts on April 20th and they would assemble the hoods & get them right out. I called in the middle of May - no firm ship date. I called in June.....they said "hopefully" in 2 weeks. Feeling the need to accomplish something this year I decided to buy myself a motorcycle . I had it for a little over a month and had ridden about 1000 miles before a crash sidelined me for 12 weeks. Since I had given Thonton my work number, I figure I should call them with updated contact info. I called in July, Troy was on vacation. A few weeks later I called and gave them the updated info. Troy said the hood should be shipped in a few weeks but by this time I was a little more than skeptical. On August 26th I received an invoice saying my hood had shipped. They had the delivery address correct but had an incorrect contact telephone number. I tried to call my bodyshop to tell them that it was on it's way & received no answer. I called Thornton to see if I could find out where in transit the hood was - no answer. I called the trucking company - they said the hood was delivered to the bodyshop. Called the bodyshop several more times - no answer. On Thursday evening I went to the bodyshop - sign on the door said closed until August 30th. Since I had no idea how long the bodyshop had been closed, I had no idea where the hood was. Luckily (after fretting all weekend) when I called the bodyshop on Monday morning, they said that the hood had been delivered & was in the shop. Great! now all I needed was a schedule to get the car in the shop for paint. I called in December to schedule a painting date but was tolde that there were no openings until next year...............sometimes it ain't easy being me.
