Hey there, my name is Mamoru. But you can call me Mamo-chan, or what everyone else is calling me, Nipple Boy. This is the replaced archive of BSSM's Emulated Game Archive. This section is merely a replaced and improved archive of the older site. There will some type of review to go along with the games, as well.
What is Emulation? What are Emulated Games?
I'm sure you've heard of it... basically, it's a program that mimics an OS or console system. Like the Super Nintendo, or Super Famicon in Japan. Emulated Games are ROMs that were ported to the computer by imaging machines. This site is a download area for the Super Famicon games, by the way.
There are emulators for both Mac and PC. If you have a Mac, I recommend you go to emulation.net to download the latest version of SNES9x, the best emulator for the Mac; keep in mind it will run both American and Japanese games. If you have a PC, I recommend going to zsnes.com or snes9x.com to download the latest version of ZSNES or SNES9x.
Aren't these games copyrighted? Isn't this illegal?
Yes. This is illegal. My means of justifying this is that the games are hard-to-find, out of production, and I doubt you'd want to spend $100 or so per game on eBay or other places. The game's copyright, despite the availibility, is protected for about 75 years or so. So maybe if you wait until then to download the ROMs and play the games you'll be doing something that's completely legal. (That is, if you're still alive by then. I suggest juicing, taking vitamins, and cutting down on the fat via George Foreman's grilling machine thing or Ron Popeil's SET IT AND FORGET IT! Showtime Cooker.) "Possession" of other certain things are also illegal, but I bet more people own that other illegal stuff than play ROMs. Okay maybe not really.
For more information, and for ROM images of games from systems other than the SFC, read KatC's section on Emulated Games. It can be found at her website, at http://www.geocities.com/Tokyo/Temple/1003/index.html.
Enjoy!
