Mark Peltier was born and raised in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. His Native ancestors originally were from the Wikwemikong Reserve on Manitoulin Island in the Georgian Bay. He is Odawa which is part of the Ojibway Nation.

Mark became interested in Native arts and crafts while he was visiting his Uncle Art Solomon's home in Garson Ontario. Throughout the home were many traditional and handcrafted pieces made by his Uncle. On returning to Windsor Mark began his craft by making traditional jewellery. This has grown over the years to his own style of art and the craft of making the "Dream Catcher".

Mark has sold his artwork to collectors and travellers from around the world. He currently has pieces in Canada, United States, England, Scotland, Holland, Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Russsia, France and Italy.
