Over the Edge Take my hand and lead me,
My sweet obsession, I pray Take me over that edge That I long for everyday. Take me gently there and when we get there I'll stay I'll never return to the land That I came from before that day. That land holds no promise for me There is no future there. My place is now beside you or on the floor beside your chair. So, please, Sir, take my hand and walk me down that road and over the edge toward the rainbow Because I want the pot of gold. I want to taste it all; All of the forbidden fruit. But I can't do that if you don't Take me to the edge with you. Take my hand and lead me, My sweet obsession, I pray. Take me over that edge that I long for, but long for only with you. I'll will take you over the edge, My Beauty, I heard your sweet voice say. I'll take you over the edge with me Take my hand, I'll guide your way. Are you sure you want to go there? I heard you ask of me Because you know, if we go, it is for all eternity. There are many new things awaiting you, New passions to be unleashed A new horizon, a new sunset new hopes and new dreams. You'll shine like a star, fall like a comet You'll be both lion and lamb You'll be as a mare unbroken; a free spirit in a new land. Your spirit will soar and it will glide Over treetops and over vales. Your eyes will light up and they will dance in your newfound happiness. So, I'll take you over the edge with me Where I know you long to be I'll take you over the edge Where at last, you will be free. (copyright pb1996) |
