Jeff Hunx's Home Page for Finance and Economics

A rigorous(?) mathematical proof why academics will never make as much money as business executives:

postulate 1: Knowledge is power.
postulate 2: Time is money.

Since in physics Power = Work/Time, and in conventional wisdom
Knowledge = Power and Time = Money, therefore,
Knowledge = Work/Money.

Solving for Money, Money = Work/Knowledge.
Thus, in the limit where knowledge -> 0, money -> infinity regardless of work done.

Conclusion: The less you know, the more you make.

Hello. You are now visiting Jeff S. Hong's Home Page. I'm currently an Assistant Professor (PhD Economics) teaching finance and management science at CUNY, and a couple of graduate business courses at University of Bridgeport in Bridgeport, CT. Previously, I also taught at Fordham University in New York City.

For those who may already know me from the old schools, but lost contact for some time, so still haven't quite figured out who I am:

I'm your old buddy Jeff (Seungmo) who did MA International Studies w/ you at University of Denver ('94) in Denver, Colorado, and MA Linguistics Hankuk University of Foreign Studies ('88) (it's a Chomskian brain frier - a pretty rigorous science - not mushy, dilly-dallying literature), BA Liberal Arts HUFS('84) in Seoul, Korea if you were there w/ me.

My main interests are, but not necessarily limited to,
Open Macroeconomic Issues,
Financial Economic Issues,
Picturesque Homes with Ocean Views.

I'd like to hear from all my alumni and former colleagues from work. So, please e-mail me to my mail. I also encourage all of you to visit MY on-line CV to find out more about me, because you never know we may have crossed at one point in our lives either in business or in academe.
