In Pursuit of Truth
Since time immemorial people
throughout the world have questioned the purpose of life and the
existence of a creator. Some have considered the universe to be
an accident or natural occurrence, while others have attributed
it to a variety of gods. This has led to the establishment of
different religions all claiming to be the way to peace.
Before anything can be considered as
accurate it should be verifiable but most religions have evolved
through the ages, and the practices today are no more than
cultural traditions, so it is difficult to establish how these
traditions started let alone accept them as true.
Following our parent's faith is
probably the easiest thing to do, but is it the best? What if
they were wrong?
Faith is just a personal
relationship with one's preconceived concept of a deity, whereas
God's approved and unchanging social order covers not just a day
in our week but all aspects of life, death and beyond.
Abraham was not a Jew, Christian or
indeed a Mohammedan but all the mainstream monotheistic religions
accept that he sought and found God and submitted to him.
The aim of Signs magazine is to seek
the same truth which Abraham pursued. Remove the shackles of
traditionalism, personal opinions and conjecture and we cannot
but conclude: There is no god but the One God.
