CHOOSING THE FRONT END , WE'LL BE GETTING THERE SOON!

I believe it's time to start thinking about what you are going to use as a front end for your artwork. My personal preferences lean towards 19" tires and 33&1/2" forks (used on a lot of foreign cruisers), because they have that nice extended look. There are a lot of different bikes out there with those specs. I have used 650 and 750 older front ends, and they have a "meaner stockier" look because the forks are usually about 3" shorter, and they turn tighter. (Because I change the front end geometry on my art work for different length fork tubes. It is an art project you know.) The huge headlights also add a lot to the look. I prefer Timkins over ball bearings, but it's easy to have a machinist make a new steering head for you to adapt roller bearings to your tree, no matter what you are using. The main reasons I prefer a 19" wheel are as follows: First, the circumference enables you to gently roll over bumps in the carpet and hardly feel them. The second reason is that with a thinner tire, you have a better bite, and are far less likely to hydroplane through the living room wall after you shampoo your carpet. Think about it!
