 JOE JAQUEZ
Toni is the founder and lead instructor of the SOFTBALL SKILLS ACADEMY.  She was born and raised in Elk Grove, California and attended Elk Grove High School.  She received a four-year scholarship to California State University - Sacramento (CSUS).  She was the starting shortstop from 1988 -1991 and helped lead CSUS to the NCAA Division II title game in 1989. She started every game but one during her career at CSUS.
During the1998 season, Toni played in the Italian Softball Federation and represented Italy in the European Cup as a member of Team Bollate.  She also played in Italy during 1992, and led the league in seven offensive categories and her Novara team to the Italian Federation finals.  In the years between her trips to Italy, she decided to try a different game.
In 1994, without any previous baseball experience, she was one of 24 women from a nationwide tryout field of 1300 selected for the Colorado Silver Bullets, a women's professional baseball team. From 1994 to 1997, while a member of the Bullets, Toni traveled throughout the US and Canada playing against male opponents.
Toni was a lead instructor at Silver Bullet baseball camps nationwide and at softball clinics for CSUS, UC Davis and Cosumnes River College.  She has given private hitting and defensive lessons for 13 years and coached at the ASA, High School and Junior College levels.

Joe Jaquez is offering his services as a pitching instructor at the SoftBall Skills Academy .  He is a Men's "A" Division pitcher, who has led his team to Nationals the past TEN years.  During the 2002 season his team the "RIVER CITY ROCKERS" finished 2ND at the "B" Nationals.
Joe was the Head Varsity Coach at the Florin High School from 1998 -2001.  He previously served as the varsity assistant at Elk Grove High School for two years and has also coached at the 14 and 16 & under divisions of ASA.  He currently is Co-Head coach and pitching instructor for the Lady Magic 16 and under team.
Joe has been giving pitching instruction off and on for the last 12 years and has served as a pitching consultant for the Elk Grove Girls Softball League and Cosumnes River College.  He was the pitching instructor for the California Fury 10 and under team, who finished 13th at the '2000' ASA Nationals and LADY MAGIC 14 and under who finished 9th in '2004'.. Joe is an up and coming instructor who is known for his great rapport with his students.  HE HAS MANY OF THE TOP PITCHERS IN THE SACRAMENTO AREA AND HIS STUDENTS ARE EXCELLING AT ALL AGE GROUPS.





RUTH KENNEDY

Ruth Kennedy is offering hitting instruction at the Academy on a limited basis on Wednesdays only.

Ruth played collegiate Basketball at University of Pacific. She played fastpitch softball during the summer months of her collegiate career and participated in ASA Nationals on several occassions. She is currently coaching a 16 -under competitive team and has been a lead instructor at SBSA youth softball Clinics.
