THE PATHWAY TO TRUTH AND LIGHT: THE X-FILES

The truth is out there....... over the course of five and a half seasons, an ever-growing group of people, from pre-teen girls to seniors, from business men to Jerry Springer addicts, have assembled before their tv screens, seeking the truth. The X-Files, simply put, is a show about everything - in contrast to Seinfeld, the show about nothing. It has romance, love, respect, the fantastic, drama, humour, aliens, UFOs, science, law..... Need I go on?

People, for many years, have wanted to believe in something, to have faith. Be it in aliens, Jesus, the Goddess, Elvis Presley being alive and munching burgers (why do I suddenly see Bill Clinton at the thought?), whatever, we all like to have something to believe in. The passion for the truth, the belief that it is out there, waiting to be found, is part of the show's draw. We want to see if the belief in the truth that fuels Mulder and Scully is not futile. We want affirmation that what we believe in can indeed be true.

Naturally, the main draw is the paranormal and seemingly unexplainable. All of us have at one time or another considered the existence of life beyond Earth, wondered if a UFO or weather balloon crashed on Mac Brazil's farm in Roswell, wondered if vampires truly exist, wondered if it is possible to shapeshift, wondered at least one of the above. And so we tune in to see what lies on the pathway to truth.

The phenomenal acting, writing and crew of the show all play a part as well. With the exception of the occasional episode (The Field Where I Died is a popular choice, and I agree it was not up to par on most points), we are treated indeed to quality television, with quality suspense that does not, as Neve Campbell noted in Scream, show busty women running up the stairs when they should be running out the door. The mythology shows in particular shine, adding new layers to the on-going search for the truth. Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny prove themselves each Sunday to be fine actors, who work well with each other on-screen. This is the reason that The X-Files has taken multiple Golden Globe wins for best drama, the stars also receiving awards for their individual roles. ER can receive all of the acclaim it can handle, but when it comes down to it, The X-Files is a one of a kind gem among all of the cop shows, hospital shows and sitcoms aiming to be the next Friends, Cosby Show, etc...

Enjoy my realm of the truth and light....

Here a but a few of my favourite pictures, found online at other sites - I can't recall the name at the moment but THANK YOU. These shots are mostly from photo shoots for magazines, some that I have seen published, others that did not make it in.
