You can tell when you get onto the sands, because the sand is white and *hot*. You put you feet in the water to cool down, and keep walking. Then you think you see a bronze spot land. You stop, wondering if you should go on... Then decide you will and proceed again slowly...
The dot is advancing quickly, and now you can make out the winged from of a bronze dragon, running towards you...
