My Monkey Island Secrets & Funny Things Page This is where I post the secrets and funny things you should know and try for the 3 Monkey Islands. If you know a funny thing or secret, e-mail it to me, and if it works and is cool, funny, or just plain neat, I'll post it here. If you need to know how to beat a certain part of any of the Monkey Island games, and I haven't posted the walkthrough yet, then just e-mail me and I tell you how to do it. |

Monkey Island 1 Secrets: Secret 1: In Monkey Island 1, while you are underwater with the Idol of Many Hands and all the sharp objects, if you actually leave Guybrush underwater for 10 minutes, he'll start to change colors, and eventually die. This is the ONLY way to kill him in any of the 3 Monkey Islands.
Secret 2: If you escape from the cannibal hut, and come back, and get captured again, and escape again, and come back again, and so on... you will notice that they lock the door in several different ways. If you do this some more times, they will lock the door with a steel-vault computer-lock mechanism. Secret 3: There are 2 different endings for The Secret of Monkey Island. If you sink your ship with a rock using the rock-catapult, it will end with your crewmates locked in the cannibal hut, with the exit sealed off, blaming you for everything. If you don't sink the ship, then you forget Herman Toothrot behind. Secret 4: When you are captured by the cannibals, if you say "LOOK BEHIND YOU! IT'S A THREE-HEADED MONKEY!!!" they look but you don't escape. If you wait about 5 seconds, a three-headed monkey will appear behind them, but they don't believe you a second time. |
Monkey Island 2 Secrets: I can't think of any secrets for Monkey Island 2: LeChuck's revenge. Frankly, I don't think there are any. It wasn't that good a game. |

Monkey Island 3 Secrets: Secret 1: You can knock Murray into the water using your ramrod, and then you can see him through the porthole in the treasure room.
Secret 2: You can use the pin on the paper voodoo doll to hurt Mort again and again. Secret 3: In the Carnival of the Damned, pick up the sign on top of the scale, and the entire park goes dark. You can still move around but it is hard to see. Secret 4: If you fall down the rope elevator (like you always do) on Skull Island and actually hit the bottom (at least once) then after you get the diamond, you push LaFoot off the top. Very funny. Secret 5: In the pirate sea battle part, if you look at the map and wait a while, a glass-bottom boat will appear, and you can battle it (no contest, 1 shot kills them even if you have the worst cannons) but if you fire and miss on purpose, they'll start screaming. Secret 6: In the Goodsoup family crypt, if you look through a hole in the wall, you will find yourself in the jungle of Monkey Island 1 on Melee Island. How, who knows? Secret 7: At the beach on Blood Island, if you do use water (the ocean) about 30 times, Guybrush finally agrees, and you walk into the water, only to see the sharp things with Idol of Many Hands area under the docks of Melee Island, and you see what it looks like when Guybrush dies! Secret 8: When you are stuck in the quicksand, if you read the sign on the thornbush, you will find out that the native word for "Ouch!" is "Papapishu!", and whenever Guybrush is supposed to say ouch, he will say papapishu instead. |
