Tamiya T34/76 '42
This is Tamiya's early T34/76, I decided to paint it as a captured vehicle, after seeing various reference photos in Squadron/Signal Panzer Colors (Camouflage of the German Panzer Forces 1939-1945). The figures are the Warriors Stug Crew. The construction was straight out of the box, the only thing added was picture frame wire for the steel cable and some "jerry" cans. I painted the kit using a mixture of Gunze and Tamiya acrylics. The kit was painted in three steps, first was a base coat of flat black, which was followed by Panzer Grey and last the faded white. Although the photos don't show the shadowing much, the paint was applied lightly to allow both the black and the grey to show through. The mud was added last using a bit of RR ballast mixed with static grass and white glue and brushed on to the lower hull and and tracks. When the mud dried I painted the lower hull a mixture of dark earth and black. The figures uniforms were painted with acrylics and the faces were painted with oil paints. Warriors figures are excellent and add a bit of life to a static model.
