About Northern Sky Drum
Northern Sky Drum was bought by a Fisherman
who did'nt wish to be it's keeper so he passed it on to Sam Bush(Standing
Bear), and said "Take it to the people". This was in 1986. The
Spiritual leaders of the area asked for a feast for The Drum. At this feast Jim
Williams named The Drum. Four times he asked The Drum members what the name of
the drum was. On the fourth time the members responded "Keeway danung
geezhego"(Northern Sky).
Sam held Northern Sky Drum for ten years then
passed it on to its current Drum Cheif, Forrest Sierminski in 1996. Forrest has
had it for over three year now.
