Meet Me At The Bus Stop
sung by Jim (Jim Henson), Joe (Jerry Nelson),
Sally (Karen Prell), and Sue (Kathy Mullen)
Jim: It was a morning kinda cool and there wasn't much to do
The sun was up shining high, but I was feeling low.
I was sitting home alone, staring at the telephone,
Wondering where I could go.
Suddenly, the tele rang (telephone rings) and from my chair I sprang
Quickly picked up the receiver and I said "Hello?"
Quite to my surprise,
I could clearly hear the vocalizing tones of my best friend Joe.
And he said ...
Joe: Meet me at the bus stop
Down on the corner by the five and dime
Meet me at the bus stop
We'll go have a good time.
Jim: At the bus stop
That's where the bus stops
You can get a ride almost anywhere
At the bus stop
That's where the bus stops
Joe: Hey, won't you meet me down there?
Jim (spoken): Good idea, Joe.
Joe: You call Sally and I'll call Sue.
Jim: We'll grab the bus to the Central Park Zoo.
Joe: Hey, don't delay. Please do it right away.
No need to sit home and feel blue.
'Cause you can ...
Both: Meet me at the bus stop
Down on the corner by the five and dime
Meet me at the bus stop
We'll go have a good time.
Jim: At the bus stop
That's where the bus stops
You can get a ride almost anywhere
Joe: At the bus stop
That's where the bus stops
Hey, won't you meet me down there?
Jim: Hey, won't you meet me down there?
Sally and Sue: Hey, won't you meet me down there?
Joe (spoken): Hey, Sue!
(various greetings between the four as they all meet up at the bus stop)
Girls and Joe (sung): Hey, won't you meet me down there?
(the rest is spoken, too many voices overlap to include them all)
Jim: Hi! Nice to see you!
Joe: Yeah! Good to see you!
Yeah, you lookin' fine!
Here we are at the bus stop.
Yeah. Just wait for the bus now to do to the zoo.
