The Infinity Watch 43 7 win + 44% Win
Kingdom of Darkness 104 0   Loss

The Kingdom of Darkness is obviously not fond of archers, and they took a very light load of archers, opting instead for 6 wights. Meanwhile, the Infinity Watch were stocking up on archers, healing one wight for pus, and keeping two wights intact. Both armies set up at the center, some of Galactus' warriors continuing their charge straight into the enemy army. They were quickly cut down, leaving their team down from the start. An archer war was started by KD, which was quickly won by IW using their archers and a small pus run. Meanwhile, Galactus' ghol pack charged the main enemy force and was cut down, giving their warriors free veteran status.

A few seconds later, IW's wight emerged from the water and walked about twenty meters across open ground into the middle of Galactus' unmoving warriors, giving them the Gift of Pus. At about that same time, IW used their other wight to detonate the enemy wight that Boblet was escorting underwater with a cluster of thrall. Boom.

The remaining KD thrall charged the middle and acted as a shield for a wight, that chased IW's archers out into KD's warriors. This move pulled back a bit of honor for KD, saving them from a humiliating maximum-point loss.

Team Units Lost Points Scoring Breakdown Result
The Infinity Watch 54 6 win + 9 flags Win
Kingdom of Darkness 95 0   Loss

KD took a pretty standard unit selection for this map, going with only two wights. IW selected only one wight, which they healed for pus. Their spare points went into more archers. The Infinity Watch all went south in a juggernaut configuration, while KD split their army in two, south and center. As the IW army moved south, Galactus' half of the KD army came in behind them, cleaning up stragglers, as Boblet's half retreated ahead of them. Galactus chose to use the unorthodox 'conga line' formation for moving his thrall (no, I'm not joking!).

KD decided that they were going to try for a 6-flag victory over IW. Consequently, Galactus sacrificed most of his thrall and archers for a lightning-fast thrall strike behind enemy lines to take out their remaining flag defenders. Unfortunately, the thrall that survived to reach the enemy flag weren't quite able to take the defenders out before being cut down. Boblet's warriors split up and ran to take flags, but were hunted down like dogs.

Team Units Lost Points Scoring Breakdown Result
The Infinity Watch 10 8 win + 5 flags Win
Kingdom of Darkness 9 4 4 flags Loss

Both armies managed to tag both center flags, with the Infinity Watch making no move towards NW, resulting in KD taking 4 flags first. IW took out KD's zerk defense of the south flag with their three trow, and defended their home flag against KD's 2-trow attack. Unfortunately, KD' zerk defense ran away from the final flag in the NW, and IW tagged it uncontested for the win.

Kingdom of Darkness 0 0 4 4 Loss

This match was a comedy of errors for KD, and I'd wager it's one they'd soon forget. From the initial disastrous wightings on Creep to the misguided zerk wanderings on Ground Zero, amusing blunders marked KD's progress across the maps in their first MWC match.
