Pool B Round-Robin Game
Game 1
YKZ go for an archer heavy setup with no ghols. IW trade for a slightly smaller force of archers, using the extra points for ghols, wights, and a jman. YKZ sets up an archer sandwich with a flank in the north. IW responds by wighting the flank, taking out a couple archers. YKZ's wights weren't nearly as effective, one of them wighting their warriors and the other being healed just as the end melee battle began. IW was leading going into the battle 61%/54%. However, their thrall trailed behind the main charge and a late pussing hurt more than it helped. YKZ's warrior/thrall mix was able to march through IW to take the flag. Game 2
YKZ again picks a unit setup with no ghols, using the extra points for archers. IW chose a well rounded army that included a dwarf. As YKZ sent all but a small group of warriors and archers north, IW pushed south with an even larger force. Both crossed the river without trouble until YKZ met with a perfectly set up pus/satchel combo that eliminated their warriors. Their archers fall soon after to another pus run by IW. Meanwhile, the IW flank approached from the south virtually unopposed. A short standoff at the bridge was ended when a thrall chased YKZ's wight out of the water north of the bridge. The following battle ended quickly with IW's superior numbers taking the bridge. In the end, an over-anxious IW gave up a 6 flag win by causing an early sudden death that allowed YKZ's thrall to grab a flag. Game 3
Neither team gets the coveted northern start with YKZ in the southwest and IW southeast. Both get off to a quick start grabbing 3 flags. However, YKZ ends the game by giving up the center flag they were guarding. IW sends their trow off to grab the last unguarded flag. YKZ saves face by rushing to grab their fourth flag just before the game ends. Match Summary (films)
YKZ started out undermanned and after the first game looked like they might still overcome the 2 on 6 scenario. But it wasn't to be. IW were able to take advantage of their numbers by spliting responsibilities and it showed in game 2. A deadly mistake by YKZ in game 3 finalized the win for IW. - Kenta
