Pool F Round-Robin Game
Game 1
The tone of the game was quickly set when dis'Dain accidentally self-detonated two wights at the start of the game. The remaining four MSH wights were swiftly hunted down by Sid the Gr8's ghols, and both (archer-less) teams had settled down to staring at each other across the river when the silence was broken by a muffled blast. The horrified Medieval Soccer Hooligans turned to their army only to find their once proud warrior battalion lying in ruins after a sneakily executed pair of pus / satchel combo attacks from more of ap's ghols. Indeed, they were lucky that the damage wasn't worse still, for while Frog in a Box's ghol bomb succeeded with devatating effect, Sid the Gr8's second bomb's satchels failing to ignite. With MSH's warrior forces decimated, not even the healing power of their four journeymen was able to save them from the juggernaut that was AP's infantry forces. The victors: Altus Praeses, with 51% of their force remaining. Game 2
While wights may be the order of the day on this desert map, MSH were unable to get any of theirs successfully submerged; however, DarkElf chuckled to himself as he hunched over his keyboard, his finger poised on the 'T' key. Laughing maniacally, his forces arose from the depths and the (almost) simultaneous blast waves ripped through the MSH army, tearing archers limb from limb and sending cleavers flying across the sun-scorched land. With their archers in the center decimated, MSH were forced to charge the AP army while their north flank was lured away by a detachment of AP's warriors. Their wounded troops were quickly crushed in the center, and their flanking forces pussed while the infantry hammer moved south to surround and destroy them. A comprehensive victory for Altus Praeses, with over two-thirds of their army remaining; an amusing thrall dance at the end as warrior forces race to capture all of the flags before eliminating the last opposing thrall. Game 3
MSH managed to tag four flags before AP, and their massed trow quickly descended upon the single flag remaining, which was guarded only by Frog in a Box's warrior and berserker force. Although they fought valiantly, the defenders were slain to a man, and only the timely intervention of Sid the Gr8's trow saved the AP flag. Altus Praeses's remaining two trow engaged in an elaborate dance of death with MSH's berserker defenders, and close to the end of the match were able to lure them into giving up the flag, sealing the win. Match Summary (films)
